If you are reading this page that's half the work done in your track to getting some Scuba Diver training. The options you have now really depend on the time you have to invest in your new activity. Basically you can choose between 3 options:
Discover Scuba Diving |
The Discover Scuba Diving program is exactly what it says it is, an introduction to scuba diving that is not sanctioned by a certification. This program starts with some basics academics that will bring you the most important understanding of physics involved in underwater activities. Building on those principles, you will learn about the effects of these physics applied to your body during immersion. Finally we will review the most important rules that a diver must follow in order to dive safely and learn the skills and techniques necessary to control your equipment and your movements in the water. Now it's time to get wet... We will begin the dive with a few skills and then move on to a discovery of the underwater world; view the luxuriant marine life composed of tropical fish, hard and soft corals. During this program we offer two dives on one of the most beautiful dive sites surrounding Phuket. |

Scuba Diver or Basic Diver course |
The Scuba Diver course is actually the first part of an Open Water course. The course is designed for those who do not have time to follow the full 3-5 days course. Your first day will begin with some academics during which we while cover some physics, physiology and knowledge about the diving equipment involved in Scuba Diving. After lunch, we will head for the swimming pool to learn and then practice the scuba diving skills required to receive a certification. Next morning we will go diving on one of the most beautiful sites in the area. The course requires 2 dives during which we will re practice the skills learnt in the pool but this time in a natural environment. During both dives the skills are followed by a tour in our underwater world concentrating on marine life and respect of this new environment. |

Open Water or One Star Diver course |
Finally the Open Water course is actually the first level of a Scuba Diver curriculum. This entry level certification will allow the new diver to dive in depths shallower than 20m of water without the supervision of a qualified instructor. The structure of the course is similar to the Scuba Diver course except that we will need most of the day to cover the academics (physics, physiology, equipment and environment). We will also need to cover and understand dive tables in order to dive independently safely once certified. The other difference is we have 2 days of diving in a natural body of water instead of 1. Our preferred method is one day from the beach that hosts a beautiful house reef to maximize education time versus travel time required by a boat trip. The second day of diving we will be visiting a world famous dive site around Phuket. Finally you will need to sit the academic exam to complete the course and receive your first diver certification card. |
