Recreational Diving in Phuket

Recreational divers visit our Islands from all over the world to experience the beauty of dive sites that made the fame of Phuket. The fringing coral reefs composed of hard and soft varieties, are some of the best in the world and are home to hundreds of reef fish species. Numerous species of pelagic fish find their home in these rich waters, including Manta rays and the Whaleshark.

When to Visit Phuket

Slightly north of the Equator, Phuket's warm tropical climate is tempered by cool easterly breezes from November to April, and by fresh westerly "monsoon" winds in summer months. You can dive here almost the whole year, but is better from November to April, which is our main diving and liveaboard season on the west coast of Thailand. Divers can expect a few wet and windy days during May - October, but it's normally quite sunny. The "low" summer holiday season can actually be a great time for diving in Phuket, since you find less divers under water, and much lower hotel prices.

Off Track Diving

Ocean Zone Divers offers completelly off the track dive sites like the Lake of Cheow Lan, lying just 2h30 north east of Phuket. This scenic fresh water lake is an incredible alternative to regular Phuket dive trips. Dives here are done along dramatic clifs and splendid caverns. For those who enjoy deep water, the lake drops down to nearly 100m.

New Gear configuration

Ocean Zone Divers is the most experienced dive center in Phuket and based on this experience has decided this year to move on from standard recreational BCD's to the use of recreational Oxycheq Wings, Backplate and Long hose configuration. This system meets the most recent developments in underwater safety also allowing a softer transition from recreational to technical diving.

Rebreather Diving

Ocean Zone Divers welcomes rebreather divers coming with their units or wishing to rent a unit. We offer all the service they require, tank rental, gas fills, oxygen fills and dive sorbe.
