3 hours due East of Phuket, Phi Phi Islands are a famous destination even for those unaware of the great diving available. As a diver, you will find that the spectacular limestone cliffs above the water become sheer drop-offs and craggy coral encrusted landscape under the water with a rich and colorful diversity of marine life; even whale sharks are known to visit. Visibility is much better over here and 20m is the average. This is where “The Beach” was shot, staring Leonardo Di Caprio.
The day boats heading for Phi Phi Islands leave daily from Chalong. The usual departure time is 08h30 and return time is 18h00. Speed boats are available every day. These boats operate for small groups only or individuals willing to charter the whole boat. These are half day trips with departures at 09h00 and return time is 15h30.

Koh Bida Noi (Small Father) 0-24m
A superb wall dive, Koh Bida Noi is blessed with marine life. Walls of glassfish, turtle, octopus, leopard sharks and seahorses are found here.
Koh Bida Nok (Father of the Birds) 0-25m
This place has it all. Leopard sharks are regulars, swimming along the wall or resting on the seabed with the stingrays down at around 20-25m. Whale sharks and manta rays are occasional visitors too. On our swim through the rocks and coral we'll see a plethora of tropical marine life. Green turtles and octopus are generally sighted, as are seahorses.
This relatively shallow site is actually a long rocky ridge hosting splendid marine life and colorful soft corals. Among the larger species we find here leopard sharks, cuttlefish, titan trigger fish swimming with all the more common reef fish. If you are lucky, it is possible to encounter here large pelagic's such as manta ray and whale shark.
Just a little further than Maya Corner, Malang is mostly dived visited by local Phi Phi operators. The underwater scenery is very similar to Maya Corner and offers a beautiful dive site. Its a good place to encounter sea turtles.
